About This Experience
Experience the vast expanse of the Karoo from the air. Fly across this vast desert-like landscape and then spend some time in a classic Karoo ‘dorp’ to find out exactly how much life this area supports!
Start off with early morning coffee and rusks at the Stellenbosch airfield before you board for take-off. Fly across the beautiful Cape mountains which support one of the smallest complete floral kingdoms in the world. Fly over the Gamkaskloof where people once lived in a valley called the Hell. Finally, you’ll spot the small oasis of Prince Albert on the horizon.
Landing at Prince Albert, you’ll be whisked off for a hearty Karoo breakfast before being driven to the Kredouw valley for an olive oil tasting. Then it’s onto a wine tasting before returning to Prince Albert. Explore the town at your leisure for a few hours before returning in the fixed wing Cessna 210 to Stellenbosch. The return journey takes you past the Swartberg Mountain pass built by Thomas Bain before turning westwards to return to Stellenbosch in the late afternoon.
