About This Experience
Take a leisurely day out in the winelands to enjoy this fabulous Segway tour experience. Using the larger multi-terrain Segway personal transporters, you'll tour the vast Spier wine estate with its Cheetah rescue programme, birds of prey and falconry displays, equestrian centre, hotel, amphitheatre, immaculate gardens and facilities. Then it's out to explore the vineyards and learn about the estate's hostory of winemaking.
A more in depth tour is offered here and you'll also see parts of Spier's bio farm and environmentally friendly water treatment plant - all under the informative guidance of your Segway guide and instructor.
A Segway is a two wheeled vehicle that moves on the command of the driver leaning forward and back, left and right. As you push the control stick forward the gyroscope built in will move you forward. At first you'll get to grips with the strange sensation of movement but by the end of this experience your confidence will grow and you'll be navigating paths, completing obstacle courses and even doing stunts on your Segway.
A complimentary wine tasting is also offered as an optional extra after your tour of the estate and vineyards.
