About This Experience
Experience hands on training in this introduction to the ancient sport of falconry. Discover the history of this art and the methods used to train and handle birds as well as their breeding.
Learn about a falconer's equipment and how he acquaints himself with a new bird. Pick up useful hints and tips and even the opportunity to fly a Harris Hawk to your glove. Enjoy a lunch in the grounds at one of the many restaurants, the cafe or deli before returning back to the centre. Then take in one of the interactive shows at this rehabilitation centre and learn about different hunting techniques and flight patterns of various of these raptors.
Experience the thrill of having a bird fly to your glove and take off again after its prey. After the display, return to the master falconer for a final briefing before heading off into the field to watch one of these birds in action.Experience the exhilaration of watching these magnificent raptors fly, bank and dive after their prey. Bringing your camera along is an absolute must. Photo opportunities abound here.
Please note that this experience is seasonal and operates only between April and September each year.

Experience Duration:
Approximately an entire day from 09:00 to around 17:00. Lunch is not included but restaurants, cafes and a deli are available on site
Weather:
Experience cannot take place during wet or very windy conditions
Restrictions:
Minimum of two participants, maximum of six participants. Participants must be aged 16 years and older
Spectators:
This experience is not suitable for spectators, however a day pass may be purchased directly from the centre and non-participants may wander around and meet the birds
