What is Therapeutic Reflexology?
Therapeutic Reflexology is the technique of applying pressure to specific reflex points on the hands and feet to stimulate the body's own healing powers and to restore balance within the body's systems. Reflexology is based on the premise that all parts of the body are represented microcosmically on the feet and hands. Pressure helps to alleviate blocked and congested energy pathways leaving you feeling revitalised and relaxed. To derive a full benefit from this treatment, several sessions may be needed. These can be bought as convenient packages of either 5 Therapeutic Reflexology sessions or 10 Therapeutic Reflexology sessions on your feet.
Anyone can benefit from reflexology treatments, regardless of age of sex. However caution is taken with:
• Those suffering from thrombosis or internal bleeding as blood circulation could increase
• Insulin-dependent diabetics as stimulation of the pancreas could increase insulin levels
• Pregnant females (particularly during the first trimester)
• Sufferers of phlebitis, lymphatic cancer, leukemia, osteoporosis and epilepsy
